Education and Training

Michelle graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. degree in dietetics and a few years later she earned her toque from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Scottsdale. Her recipes have appeared at A-list celebrity events, she cooked at the Mobil Five Star restaurant Mary Elaine’s, and was a private chef serving guests including English royalty. Fresh out of college, she learned the art of foodservice management with Compass Group, USA.

Active in Her Profession and Community

Michelle has served in leadership roles in many levels of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, including president of the Arizona Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Education Chair of the Food and Culinary Professionals Dietetic Practice Group. Michelle has mentored many interns as they complete nationally accredited dietetic programs and has been a guest lecturer at Arizona State University. Michelle is a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals and Les Dames d’ Escoffier, an invitation-only professional and philanthropic organization, as well as Nutrition Entrepreneurs and Food and Culinary Professionals Dietetic Practice Groups. Michelle’s favorite volunteer position is being a guest lunch lady at her daughter’s school.

Michelle practices yoga, pilates, and plays on a competitive women’s tennis team “for fun.” When traveling, she is always on the lookout for the best food experiences, whether it is bringing tuna poke to the beach, noshing on a juicy peach at the local farmers market, or savoring a fine chef’s creations. Michelle is newly based in Carmel, Indiana (Indianapolis area) with her husband and two young daughters, after living in Phoenix (Scottsdale) Arizona for 15 years.
